This section is a European Film Awards qualifying category, and if it wins, the film will become eligible for nomination by the European Film Academy.

A journey from the microscopic to the planetary, these ten works collectively map an unsettled present and an unknown future. Beginning in the quiet, observational terrain of nature, light, and breath, and unfolding through questions of memory, identity, and power, they gradually expand into fractured landscapes of bodies, history, and ultimately, speculative imaginations. Both tactile in form and conceptual in scope, this collection attempts at proposing other ways of sensing, resisting, and becoming. Whether digital, archival or cosmic, each work vibrates with a refusal to settle, inviting us into a cinema of nuance, transformation, and radical possibility.

 Το Pugnant Film Series πάει στο Κτίριο Νόμπελ στο Χαλάνδρι, για να συμμετέχει στην έκθεση "συλλογικό γουργουρητό" σε επιμέλεια της Νάντιας Αργυροπούλου. 

Επιμεληθήκαμε το δωμάτιο μας, ώστε να είναι σαν το σπίτι μας. Καθώς το ντύσαμε με στοιχία και παταφυσικές από τους χώρους που επισκεπτόμαστε. Σε αυτό το installation μπορείτε να δείτε flyers αρχείου, από σχεδόν όλες (70 και πλέον προβολές) του Pugnant Film Series. Δεν συμπεριλάβαμε μόνο τα flyers που δημιουργήθηκαν στις θεματικές προβολές του Cinema Suicide. Μπορείτε να δείτε μέσα σε τσίγγινη λεκάνη φωτογραφίες από τις εγκαταστάσεις μας σε εγκαταλελειμμένους -και όχι μόνο χώρους. Οι φωτογραφίες που παρουσιάζονται ανήκουν στην πνευματική ιδιοκτησία των επισκεπτών του Pugnant Film Series. 

Κι ακόμα, και κυρίως, και περισσότερο μπορείτε να δείτε τις ταινίες Our Summer Made Her Light Escape της Sasha Waters Freyer, το σπάνιο Bluebird του Παναγιώτη Παπαφράγκου, το  Mole του Sasha Svirsky, το the shade tale της Ειρήνης Ταμπασούλη, το Rain του Βασίλη Παπαϊωάννου, το Granny’s Revenge του Λάμπρου Κορδολαίμη και το Fantastic Plastic της Jeanne Stern. Πρόκειται για ταινίες που παίζουν με τα δομικά ερωτικά στοιχεία του κινηματογράφου. Φως - Σκιά, Χρώμα - Αποχρωματισμός, Αργοί ρυθμοί - Ξέφρενοι ρυθμοί, Χαρά - Λήθη είναι λίγα απ' τα δίπολα που προσφέρουν μια γκάμα συγκινήσεων απ' την ψυχεδέλεια, την γιορτινή ανησυχία μέχρη την γαλήνη ή την μελαγχολία.

Τα εγκαίνια της έκθεσης είναι στις 10/10 στις 19.30, και θα διασκέσει μέχρι τις 24 Νοεμβρίου.

Pugnant Film Series is coming to the Nobel Building in Chalandri to participate in the exhibition "collective purr" curated by Nadja Argyropoulou.

We have curated our room to feel like home. We dressed it with elements and pataphysical artifacts from the places we normally visit. In this installation, you can see archive flyers from almost all (70-plus screenings) of the Pugnant Film Series. We did not include only the flyers created for the thematic screenings of Cinema Suicide. You can also see photos of our installations in abandoned - and not only - spaces presented in a tin basin. The photos exhibited belong to the intellectual property of visitors of the Pugnant Film Series screenings.

Moreover, and primarily, you can see the films Our Summer Made Her Light Escape by Sasha Waters Freyer, the rare Bluebird by Panagiotis Papafragkos, Mole by Sasha Svirsky, The Shade Tale by Eirini Tampasouli, Rain by Vasilios Papaioannou, Granny’s Revenge by Lampros Kordolaimis, and Fantastic Plastic by Jeanne Stern. These are films that play with the fundamental erotic elements of cinema. Light - Shadow, Color - Desaturation, Slow rhythms - Frenetic rhythms, Joy - Forgetfulness are just a few of the dichotomies that offer a range of emotions from psychedelia, festive anxiety to serenity or melancholy.

The opening of the exhibition is on 10/10 at 19:30 and will be open until November 24.

[september 21] PARENTHESIS @ the Millennium Workshop in NYC!🗽

Parenthesis will be a part of the exhibition Bookmarks of Discomfort Vol.2 at the Millennium Workshop in NYC this upcoming Wednesday, September 21st starting at 7:30pm. The exhibition is curated by the multidisciplinary artist Priyanka Das and includes amazing artists who are also wonderful friends and colleagues.

Bookmarks of Discomfort is a series of screenings/presentations to bring together artists, creators who address the idea of discomfort through visual, aural, physical and textual monographs. Often we confront our true selves, an assertive voice of being through uncomfortable situations, circumstances, crisis or struggle. Unfortunately, those moments of discomfort are often grounded on the societal hegemonic, both explicit and implied codes of being, behaving, experiencing, understanding, and interpreting. When we find ourselves in those discomfort/ challenging moments, we may respond to comply, resist, remain indifferent, revolve, reflect, observe and many more ways. These moments of discomfort present itself and affect different races, ethnicities, and individuals with collectives and communities differently. 16 diverse artists, coming together to present the idea of discomfort in their own subjective ways.
